Bambu Lab A1
Fast and without a learning curve, but with typical bed slinger quirks
The A1 is the printer we recommend most to beginners: it calibrates itself, prints fast, and the multicolor with AMS lite works. Its issues are almost never about quality, but rather the PEI sheet, the flow sensor, and the ringing that appears when moving the bed at 300 mm/s with tall prints.

Maintenance
- Wash the PEI sheet with soap and water every 15–20 prints.
- Grease the Z-axis and X-axis rails with the included grease every 300 hours.
- Check the belt tension if layer shifts appear.
- Clean the extruder flow sensor with air if the filament detector fails.
FAQ
Does the A1 print ABS or ASA?
It's an open printer: it can melt them, but they crack due to drafts. For ABS, ASA, or PC, you need an enclosed machine like the P1S.
Is the AMS lite worth it?
Yes for multicolor and for having four materials loaded, but it wastes filament in purges. For single-colour parts, it adds no value.
Is your Bambu Lab A1 not giving you what you need?
