Voron and DIY Klipper machines printers
Build it yourself and understand it inside out
It's not a brand, it's an open design. Building a Voron (or a RatRig, or any CoreXY with Klipper) is the long road, but you end up with a machine you can repair and fine-tune down to the last parameter.

What they do well
- Total control: every parameter is yours
- Excellent assembly documentation and a highly technical community
- Standard spare parts from any supplier
Where they give trouble
- Realistic 40–60 hours of assembly for the first time
- No official support: you rely on the community
- The budget skyrockets if you buy quality components
Workshop tips for Voron and DIY Klipper machines
Calibration order
Mechanics first (gantry squareness and belt tension), then PID, then resonances, and finally pressure advance. Changing the order means measuring noise.
Kit printed parts
Print them in ABS or ASA if the machine will have a heated enclosure; in PLA they deform at 55 °C inside the enclosure.
