What they do well
- Unbeatable price-to-detail ratio in resin
- Neptune 4: stock Klipper at an entry-level price
- Good spare parts availability in Europe
Where they give trouble
- Resin: mandatory safety gear (gloves, nitrile, ventilation, isopropyl alcohol)
- Klipper on Neptune: careful when updating, you must match the specific mainboard version
- Resin LCD screens are consumables, lasting around 2,000 hours
Workshop tips for Elegoo
Proper curing
Wash for 3–5 min in alcohol, dry completely, and cure for 2–4 min per side. Curing while wet leaves the surface permanently tacky.
Resin supports
Tilt the model 20–30° and add medium supports: this reduces suction cup forces and stops the part peeling off the build plate.
